The Brief
Big Star Fireworks are a locally based firework specialist store in Wolverhampton and have a good reputation in the area. People are aware of their wide variety of fireworks for weddings, bonfire night and special events.
Although they were able to convert and complete sales in their fireworks showroom, they were unable to receive online orders despite traffic coming to their website.
Simply, the website wasn’t user friendly which resulted in a high bounce rate and low goal completions. We first investigated why users were dropping off the site and why they stopped before fulfilling their order. We realised that the shopping cart needed to be improved to increase the ease and use of purchasing.
We studied the target audience to found out what motivated them, what information they needed and what would get them to purchase. As a result, we implemented short clips of the fireworks in action through videos! This allowed users to trust the product through a visual representation.
The Result
Big Star Fireworks were able to see an increase in their traffic, session rate and goal completions during their business season. We helped them achieve 7.4x more phone clicks and 15.5m as many email clicks compared to their previous season.
